ELSW 4-8-2 #412 - El Paso & Southwestern         
Nice Alco-Brooks builder photo of El Paso & Southwestern 4-8-2 mountain type steam locomotive #412. Originally built by Alco-Brooks as EP&SW 4-8-2 #412, it was very quickly renumbered a month later to Southern Pacific 4-8-2 #4387 on November 19, 1924. During its service years, it had several changes made - from coal to oil burner, skyline casings added, and cylinder size changed. It was vacated in January of 1953 and met the scrapper's torch at the Sacramento Shops in April of 1953. Specs - 73.5" drivers, 210 psi boiler pressure, 29x30" cylinders, engine wt of 391,000 lb and tractive effort of 61,273 lb.
