Amtrak Passenger Trains, #6 of 6, 1992
Amtrak. Here is the sixth of six successive original photos that I took at the Virginia Railway Express L'Enfant Plaza Passenger Station in Southeast Washington, DC, on 20 June 1992. Fading away here is an Amtrak passenger train pulled by engine #206, an F40PH built by GM-EMD in July of 1976 and rated at 3,200 horsepower. This train has just departed Union Station and has roared through the tunnels under Washington's streets on its way to Richmond and points South.
