Friendly Crew and Big Boy 4003
The crew of Big Boy 4003 poses with their locomotive as it rests on a yard track at North Platte. 4003 has likely just cut off of a cut of cars in the yard, and will now back down to the engine facility for servicing. The steam behemoth was built in August 1941, consecutively with 4000, 4001, 4002, and 4004. 4003 would be scrapped in mid 1963.
