Here is the ninth of 32 color prints of calendar art works that were commissioned by the Pennsylvania Railroad from 1925 through 1958. Shown here is Grif Teller's painting entitled "The New Day." It was published originally in 1934. Depicted here is PRR engine #4702, a P-5A (2-C-2) electric built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during July of 1932, rated at 3,750 horsepower, rebuilt as a P-5B in November of 1937, and retired in November of 1961 after 29 years of faithful service.
