| Louisville & Nashville E7A 781 and Illinois Central E8A 4021 were coupled together at New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal while the locomotives were being serviced. Coupling the units together made it more convenient for the person who was servicing them to move them around. The engines had come in earlier in the day on the PAN-AMERICAN and the PANAMA LIMITED and would depart on the same trains that afternoon. (approximate date of photo) |
