CA 4-6-2 #5283 - Chicago & Alton  Contributor's Pick!       
Built by Alco-Brooks in 1910 as a class I-5A Pacific carrying the number 628, it was renumbered after the 1929 B&O take over of the Chicago & Alton. Specifitcs - original class I-5A later reclassified as P-14s, 80" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 23x28" cylinders, engine weight of 248,000 lb, tractive effort of 31,476 lb. Unknown photographer.
