FEC 4-8-2 #822 - Florida East Coast  Contributor's Pick!       
With his head out the window, an engineer waits patiently while the conductor heads down the side of the train. Built by Alco in 1926, this Mountain-type locomotive sported 69" drivers, developed a respectable 210 psi boiler pressure for its 28"x30" cylinders. With an engine weight of 356,000 lb, it generated a respectable tractive force of 60,845 lb. Date is approximate. No photographer listed.
