Description:  A sunny side closeup shot of the CPKC logo. I admit I could get used to this image, my friends, because it's a classy reworking of the legendary Canadian Pacific "beaver" emblem.

Sunny Side View
Title:  Sunny Side View
Description:  A sunny side view of the CPKC logo and lettering on the 9375. Note the "CP" sub-lettering beneath the cab. "CPKC" is not yet a reporting mark, so the repainted units are going to be sub-lettered for their home roads until then.

Description:  The first thing I did when I reached Union Depot on Train Days 2024 was snap this shot of CPKC (CP sub-lettered) 9375. I must admit the new look sure is snappy.

Title:  Waiting To Roll
Description:  The crew aboard a westbound ethanol (?) train waiting at Highway 100 on the Paynesville Subdivision waits to roll on a lovely evening on the last day of June, 2024. I foresee snappy new CPKC paint (with CP sublettering) is in the 8024's future.

Units Active And Stored
Title:  Units Active And Stored
Description:  A glimpse from Transfer Road (via zoom shot) reveals units stored in the north side of the Commercial's yard. The paint on the second of these units here indicates a new arrival, the 45, which is an operable unit. Not sure what the 200's status is, but the 35, alas, is stored facing an uncertain future last I heard.

Title:  Parked Separately
Description:  Usually Progressive Rail's Dan Patch Line power can be found coupled together at the open air "shops" west of Lyndale Avenue on the old Hi-Line. This mild Saturday afternoon, however, they were decoupled with PGR 34 on the spur into Ziegler CAT and PGR 36 out on the main. Perhaps the 34 was awaiting repairs of some sort?

A Pleasant Surprise
Title:  A Pleasant Surprise
Description:  I was pleasantly surprised to come upon this eastbound grain train at Birch Island Road on a wonderfully mild afternoon. After leading the way west to the United Farmers Cooperative in Browntown, these two BNSF vets were now bringing up the rear as the DPU (which I didn't arrive in time to catch) led the way back to town.

Old MN&S In Limbo
Title:  Old MN&S In Limbo
Description:  The old Minneapolis, Northfield, and Southern main line sits in overgrown limbo on an unseasonably mild January afternoon. They will need to clear the brush and cut down that small pine tree before grain trains to Savage resume one day. View is looking north from Auto Club Road.

Into The Valley
Title:  Into The Valley
Description:  The old MN&S main still descends into the valley south of Auto Club Road, awaiting the resumption of TC&W grain trains to Savage. However, when the grain market finally allows for that to happen, first they'll need to remove that fallen tree, cut back the one behind it, and in general, fix up the tracks before the first train shows up.
